I painted this portrait of Sir Morien a while ago. He was yet another badass of the Round Table, half-brother to Sir Percival, and could deflect spears and arrows with his sword in the middle of combat, like a frickin' medieval jedi.

I think this guy was the first time I realised I could just *not* paint a background, and people would still be into it. I even drew attention to the lack of background, by making his cape disappear into it, and people actually praised it! So I've been riding that ever since
Just a close-up of a thing I'm working on, in which Sir Balin features as a central character and draws a cursed blade, unleashing a great doom upon the kingdom and spiraling the land into catastrophic consequences that would echo through centuries... Also shiny shiny shoulder!
And I say unto him 'No, I have client work to do', and cast him back into the pit. There he must battle with all the other half-finished monsters of my imagination, to either once more claw his way to the surface, or die in the shadows.
