Ask the supreme leader if he would be so kind as to say he promises never to get nukes, crosses his heart and hopes to die. Pinky promise also. Then declare this a crushing victory for the free world and vindication of Trunpianism.
As much as meekly bending the knee to Iran may be unappealing to Trump, what other option does he have at this point? Continuing the status quo would lead to global depression and stratospheric fuel prices on US voters.
Trump is coming up to the mid terms and he is desperate to make this war go away. Needs to get fuel prices down and the last thing he needs is the stock crash and recession that could come from repeatedly restarting conflict. Big chance of significant Trump-Israel rupture.
A lot of people ridiculed Iran’s demands - especially reparations - but it sure looks like they are getting their demands largely met, including a large transfer of money, however you want to badge it. Not only a defeat for the USA, but a complete humiliation.
Contents of the USA-Iran preliminary deal are still uncertain but media reports suggest they are highly favourable to Iran. Big question: how long before Israel sabotages it?

Making the ceasefire contingent on Lebanon is obviously highly fragile. But for Iran that’s a feature not a bug. It will drive a wedge between USA and Israel.
