Vanguard is such a good idea that they keep doing it over and over again.
The sudden ramp up from regular dudes that sword fight you to huge bizarre demon that one-shots you immediately after you walk through the door is memorable.

Demon's Souls on CRT begins.
I bought a used PS3 to play this game years ago, after having already played Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3, and it became and remains my favorite.
It's so beautifully weird. Clever and ambitious. Primordial and yet ahead of its time. I love it.
