"Keys? Who's lockin' doors in an ancient temple?"
One of Hyrule's biggest mysteries...Malon turns to Linkle, hand on her own hip.
"This place seems real massive though. Wonder what it was for originally...?"

Once Linkle is back up, she watches as Malon easily clears the jump! It looked easy enough, thankfully! The green hero takes a step back before sprinting towards the chasm! She leaps into the air, and lands with a roll!
"Woah, it is! I wonder if there are any keys here..."

"A shoppin' trip after this sounds swell."
Malon takes a couple steps back, and then runs forward and makes a great leap across the chasm! She easily clears it, but staggers forward and catches herself against the wall on the other side.
"It's dry over here, grasshopper," Malon replies, turning

"I wonder about that, actually..."
Linkle kneels down, placing a hand on the ground.
"If it is related, it happened way before we got here."
Completely dry...And yet it still had water in other places? Was that the lake's water?
"I do think it's related, though...Erm..But yeah! Let's go-

"Seems like whatever caused the lake ta dry up also did it here too."
That gap was pretty wide to get to the central area of the room. She was sure they could make it with a running start though.
"Yeah. Dresses take forever ta dry. If I'm gonna be adventurin' with ya, I definitely need to find

"I'm hoping that we can!"
Linkle takes note of a small pool of water at the bottom of the central room...Was this place drained too?
"Mm... It's all dry, though..."
Linkle seems to think to herself, glancing up, and then glancing around...
"I have a feeling that we'll be thankful that we're-

"Ain't any closer to figurin' out why the lake doesn't have water in it either..."
Malon stops near the edge, peering out at the open space.
"We ain't exactly dressed fer adventurin', but maybe we can find something?"

"You are? I'm so glad!~"
Linkle already felt like she should take Malon out on more adventures! But first...they needed to learn more about this temple.
As she pulls herself up, she follows just behind Malon.
"That's a good question..."

"...yeah. Kinda glad you dragged me here actually, grasshopper."
She pulls herself up onto the ledge proper, standing up and walking forward through the entrance.
"...it's massive. Who could've built a place like this down here?"

Linkle joins Malon by the ledge, breathing out a sigh of relief before carefully examining their surroundings... The ancient structure only fueled her with more curiosity and excitement!
"This is incredible..."

It's kind of thrilling right now. Her and Linkle exploring a Temple together...could this be considered an adventure?
"This way," Malon says after a moment of scanning their surroundings. She swims right over to the ledge, resting against it for a moment and looking into the temple properly.

"Haaah...Yeah! I'm alright!"
Linkle takes a moment to catch her breath before looking to Malon with a small smile on her face!
"It seems like this really is a temple!"
She'd glance around for anywhere that they can stand on...There is a ledge, but Linkle completely misses it.

She swims up when Malon feels Linkle start pulling her up! She surfaces next to Linkle, gasping for air as well!
"Gah! You ok, Linkle?"
Her gaze turns to Linkle, ignoring the Temple in front of them for a moment. They'd been down in the water for a while!

Linkle definitely wouldn't have made it on her own if Malon wasn't here...Once inside, it initially becomes almost pitch black, Linkle glancing up only to see a light up above...
After a moment they resurface in a corridor, Linkle gasping for air as soon as they do!

Malon keeps her eyes partially open as she joins Linkle in swimming towards the opening. She'd keep guiding Linkle in the right direction, remembering her directional challenges.
In for a green rupee, in for a gold rupee as they say...

Was Malon looking at Linkle's legs? Not that she'd noticed...
"Three!"
She jumps with Malon, the two making a splash as Linkle begins swimming down towards the opening!

Boots were usually made of leather, right? Like Linkle's thigh high...
anyway.
"Right. One. Two..."
She gets ready. Bracing herself to jump into the cold water!

"Ready when you are!~ Jump in on the count of three?"
It didn't look too deep, thankfully...If it was, then they'd need something to weigh them down! Like iron boots!
..Why would someone make boots with iron? Linkle didn't know.

She nods to Linkle. It looked like they'd have to dive underwater to get in though. Hopefully there'd be a place to breathe soon when they got in!
"Are you ready, grasshopper?"

Each step is careful....Linkle doesn't want to slip and bring Malon with her, after all! Once they're on the edge of the water, she looks down.
"There's an opening...I guess we'll be swimming after all?"

Yeesh, slippery and steep. Definitely not a great combination.
Malon takes it slow, letting Linkle lead them down the basin. Keeping her eyes focused.

The hero nods, looking down at the ground....It still seemed...moist? Is that the right word?
The ground seemed wet...It definitely drained recently.
"Right, and it looks slippery! So...watch your step, okay?"
Linkle warns Malon before beginning to step forward.

Malon has...well she had a small knife on a leg holster? That was at least something to protect herself with.
"Careful...it's steep here. This place wasn't made ta not have water in it."

"Yesss....Let's go, then!~"
Thankfully, Linkle was still carrying her sword on her back! She'd never leave it behind, just in case!

"...well alright then. I know I ain't gonna be able ta stop ya. I see that glimmer in yer eye."
Besides, she'd be beside herself if Linkle didn't come back in one piece. So Malon had to go, if only to make sure Linkle was ok!

There's quick nodding from Linkle! She definitely wants this!
"If not us, then who else will save the lake? I...I want to keep you close, too! I want to keep you safe."

"Uh...you do realize that place might be super dangerous, right...?"
Not that she's not itching to look herself. Malon looks to Linkle, and not at her swimsuit this time.
"...you sure about this, grasshopper?"

Wait...a temple?! Linkle's eyes seem to light up in that moment. She's grasping at Malon's hand pretty tightly right now.
..She wants to explore the temple.
"..Can we go look? Maybe the water is in there!"

Her vision is drawn to the weird structure.
"Think I've heard of some sorta temple bein' at the bottom of the lake, but I didn't think it was real."

Linkle manages to look away from Malon long enough to get a good look at the drained lake....She has a weird feeling about this.
"....What's that?"
Linkle asks while pointing at a structure near the bottom, the only place still submerged by water.

"It is! It's a real big lake, so big that it's hard ta even see the other shoreline. What's it doin' lookin' like this!?"
She glances around.
"It's just one big basin now."

"...I thought there was supposed to be more water?..."
Linkle says rather quietly, glancing around the area...It was like the lake itself was drained?

She gets to the beachside and...
"...hold on, where's the water? Where's the consarned water?"

It takes a few moments for Linkle to finally speak up, her voice being just a tad bit shaky.
"This is my...first time here! Ever, actually!"

Something must be getting at her tongue. Ah well, she seems happy. Blushy even. Malon claims that hand and trots off towards the water.
"I ain't been to Lake Hylia in a long time!"

There's very fast nodding from Linkle! Her face is almost entirely red right now.
She's reaching out her hand, still in complete silence.

Malon can definitely get this much muscle! Most of Linkle's were built up from working with Cuccos after all!
