We took a comparative look at three cities in Germany, with a particular focus on how the susceptibility to radicalization can be mitigated or even prevented by local social service organizations.
🚨 New research alert! 🚨 My latest study explores how white supremacist ideologies affect hate crime reporting by US law enforcement. Findings show fewer reports in Republican-dominated areas with active right-wing hate groups. Read more here: doi.org/10.3390/socs...
🎯 Out now: Our study across 3 German cities challenges assumptions about neighborhood effects on radicalization. While local context matters in segregated areas, individual factors play a key role as putative risk and protective elements. w/ @s-kurtenbach.bsky.social @azick.bsky.social
Presenting today at #GOR25 with @mbuermann.bsky.social: Our topic is: "Sampling Refugees in Countries of First Refuge"! We are going to share our methodology for reaching refugee populations where traditional sampling methods fall short. Feel free to come and discuss with us!
Great news: I have finished my PhD at Bielefeld University! 🎓🎉 My dissertation focused on how spatial contexts shape radicalisation. Huge thanks to Prof Dr Martin Kroh, @azick.bsky.social and @s-kurtenbach.bsky.social for their valuable guidance and support throughout this journey. 🙌
