Faulknerian stream-of-consciousness is not for everyone, but this one-sentence WWI novel by Daniel Kraus is an astounding piece of writing: violent, surreal, and moving.
It also made me think of the film 1917. What is with WWI and the use of a single shot/sentence?

Daniel Kraus won a Pulitzer for Angel Down and a Whalefall movie based on another of his books is coming out soon. In order to challenge his current literary dominance, I shall write a book about a man who gets swallowed by an angel.
