Liquor store owners weren’t the only opponents of this year's proposed bottle bill. Beyond Plastics, a group working to end single-use plastic waste, said it was opposed to this year’s legislation because it gave too much power to the producers to regulate themselves.
Bottle redemption programs are run by producer responsibility organizations.
