The German-French-Spanish fighter project – the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) – demonstrates that even with Ukraine and Donald Trump, European defence cooperation remains fraught.
FCAS was already competing with the GCAP project and Swedish and Turkish fighters. Europe should combine its efforts.
