We will consider how hegemonic norms, institutions, and intersecting forms of subjugation dictate who is able to form certain relationships, which relationships are valued, and how power circulates within them.
We will investigate the possibilities of intimate practices and communities of care as sites of resistance, solidarity and social transformation.
The struggle for justice doesn’t end at the public sphere; it reaches into our bedrooms, friendships, families, & communities.
This workshop will examine how intimate relationships - romantic, sexual, platonic, familial, communal - are shaped by, reproduce, & resist wider structures of oppression.
