Speaking personally I’m disinclined to be the generation at the Bar that nods through partial abolition of the right to jury trial.
The winner of this year’s £2000 Kalisher Essay Prize is Bridgit Tai. The runner up prize of £500 goes to Lucy Burgin at 3 Raymond Buildings. You will shortly be able to read their essays on Kalisher’s website. Many congratulations to both of them.
At our session on evolving the culture at the Bar we’re discussing bullying and harassment and the upcoming report. @leonkazakos.bsky.social said Bar leaders all have a duty to be reflective of their style and set the tone. He urged everyone: “don’t be a bystander”.
