My first edition of 40k was 3rd edition, so I encountered John Blanche’s art for the first time right on the cover. It’s hard to overstate his influence on this hobby we love, from the art, to his general ethos when approaching minis.

Rest in Peace, John Blanche. The legacy of his artistry has inspired people to create whole subcultures in the larger miniaturing culture, for artists to try new and personal things, and cemented the vision many have of what Warhammer should look like.
