Too disabled to have a pain specialist, not disabled enough for palliative care, no hospitals in my region equipped for my "complexity" so I always have to travel & no barriers exist for me to access track 2 or 1 of MAiD. Ah yes, this must be the autonomy that MAiD proponents are always speaking of.

Appointment done. They won't take me on as a patient because I'm on supplemental oxygen, blood thinners and have too much hardware in my spine. They said I'm a level 4 out of 5 (5 being comatose patients I guess?) on the complexity scale & need treatment/procedures at a well equipped hospital. 🫩

Pain clinic tomorrow for the first time since my last 2 spinal fusions. Worried about being treated poorly for being A) a visibly disabled woman B) a long term opioid user I don't want anything to happen to jeopardize access to the only meds that quiet my pain enough for me to feel somewhat human.
