It's weather we've all been waiting for so make sure to go enjoy it! But this isn't just good weather, the record breaking heat is the effects of climate change and this Gov is failing the public in tackling the issue. #sunshine #ireland #climateaction #climatechange

The climate and biodiversity crises remain the greatest threat to our society... but most politicians seem to think they are no longer important. Not all problems are environmental problems - but they all present a choice between a short-term fix and a sustainable solution.

Statement from Green Party leader @rodericogorman.bsky.social
BIG news in the fight for Dublin 8 pitches! We've just seen the initial planning documents for a fullsize pitch at Donore Avenue. Our local committee will get a presentation on Wed 17th with full planning lodged the next week. Plenty of road left to travel, but this is great, great news!

Irish households are effectively paying €360 extra a year on electricity bills to subsidise data centres, according to a new Friends of the Earth report. We need a moratorium on data centres and real transparency on their impact. @hazelchu.bsky.social

Is the Minister for Media, Patrick O'Donovan, going to haul the media in every time he disagrees with their coverage of his Government's mismanagement? It is inappropriate for the Minister to interfere in the independence of media when their reporting does not suit his Government.
Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.
Dereliction is a blight on our city! So many buildings and homes that can be put back to use if we had ambition. Yesterday I challenged Dublin City Council to have that ambition rather than setting a lower bar. #derelict #dereliction #housing #homeless #dublin

@rodericogorman.bsky.social contributed to this article on @thejournal.ie today. It looks at the effects of removing the carbon tax, and how we’d only end up paying anyway www.thejournal.ie/carbon-tax-f...
