Speaking not just personally but frankly cynically, it is generally more important that album art be evocative than that it be glossy and well-rendered. Something a non-artist spends 20 minutes drawing themself will probably be a better fit to the album, if nothing else

I don't have any patience for the "but we're poor" argument for bands using AI for posters and publicity. Try to think back to roughly 3 years ago when you somehow coped without it.
