House Bill 1678 ensures Big Tech corporations are paying their fair share to generate income for Pennsylvania. These funds will be used to provide property tax relief for older Pennsylvanians. This bill implements a digital advertising tax on Big Tech companies that profit off targeted digital ads

Pennsylvania is proud to share the legacy of Valley Forge National Historical Park, and I was glad to have Superintendent Rose Fennel and Director of Visitor & Community Engagement Adam Gresek in Harrisburg on Monday. Until 1976, Valley Forge was a state park—Pennsylvania's first.
These corporations maximize profits by collecting data to sell us ads: the banners on news sites, artificially boosted search engine results & full screen pop-ups. Not only do these ads make our experience on the internet more difficult, they’re also not subject to taxation. HB1678 would change that
As a proud co-sponsor on the Digital Advertising Tax from Rep. Fiedler, Rep. Abney and Rep. Inglis, I was glad to vote yes and see the bill pass the PA House this week by a vote of 139-63.
The PA legislature then agreed to “gift the park” to the federal government 50 years ago, where it became the 283rd unit of the National Park System and the only National Park to celebrate its birthday on the 4th of July.

We’re fortunate to have this incredible park right here in Montgomery County, and next month it will celebrate its 50th anniversary, right alongside America’s 250th! In the PA House this week, we adopted House Resolution 488, which officially celebrates Valley Forge’s 50th!
