How dare you say we are just bog-standard far right crackpots! We have no ill will towards any ethnic minority or LGBT people. We simply oppose *the ideology* of ethnic minorities and LGBT people; the idea that they should have any specific rights, and the inconvenience of being called bigots.

The last couple years on the job market I’d look at positions in red/southern states and think “maybe not, who knows if they’ll be politically captured and faculty won’t be safe”. I thought that was a bit paranoid but it looks like it’s moving closer & closer in that direction
