Yet again a horrific assault has been used to justify violence on our streets, even though the victims family has appealed for calm.
We must stand up to those using social media to spread hate and demonise communities by replacing their fiction with facts.

This is first conviction using misogyny as hate crime - what he did was already a crime but now he will get a more serious sentence. Minimising his behaviour underlines why we fought for this as she must have been terrified. Ask for a kiss? He grabbed her hair and refused to take no for an answer.
