Oh wow, Orel Hershiser played winter ball in the Dominican Republic in 1983–84 with the Tigres del Licey. He went 8–2 with a 1.51 ERA and 55 Ks in 77⅔ IP to capture Lanzador del año honors. This was the winter between his callup and his rookie year.
