Two days ago on the debate stage, I addressed the fact that new Medicaid work requirements will push hundreds of thousands off coverage.
This is the news today. People are scared they’re about to lose care. Healthcare is a human right, not a paperwork test.
I got a mountain of campaign mail at home and had one thought:
What if we spent that money vaccinating children or feeding families?
I am calling on @schumer.senate.gov to resign.
For too long, Democratic leadership has reacted to crises instead of preventing them. While Trump dragged this country deeper into chaos, party leaders failed to meet the moment.
The biggest winner of Tuesday night's NY-12 congressional debate was Nina Schwalbe, a public health expert who wasn't even invited to the first televised debate in the race to fill retiring incumbent Jerry Nadler's seat in Manhattan.
During a debate for N.Y.'s 12th Congressional District, candidate Nina Schwalbe asked fellow candidate Micah Lasher where an 85-year-old resident would live if NYCHA's Fulton and Elliot-Chelsea Houses are torn down - which Lasher supports as part of a redevelopment plan.

We need to regulate AI before it’s released to the public, not after.
That means testing models before they reach people. That means a congressional committee covering all areas of AI.

New Yorkers deserve leaders who fight early, fight hard, and fight to win. It’s time for new leadership.
The stakes are real. Unregulated AI is already causing misdiagnoses in cancer detection, and Black and Brown patients and women are paying the price.
We can’t wait. And I’m the person who will fight for it.
The World Cup is bringing millions of visitors to the United States. Unfortunately, Trump spent years weakening the very public health systems designed to handle events like this.
