I think it's now fair to say that when it comes to trans kids, the NHS is no longer practising medicine.
It is the instrument of a transphobic conspiracy theory perpetuated by ideologues and quacks that would rather harm children than see them turn out trans.
Despicable.
And all Labour's doing.

And in fact MPs passing the 1957 Act did recognise that a slow burn response to abuse should be taken into account. But they weren't thinking of familial violence. Rather, the argument was that victims of fascistic violence should be viewed as having reasonably lost control when they kill fascists.
