Yet more evidence that the people who run things are utter fucking numpties.

The community has been given just 14 days to raise £40,000 to save a historic tiled mural that could be lost when a block of flats is demolished

Sadly, it seems Kirklees Housing is now set on destroying this piece of public art despite having given firm assurances that they would not from at least 2021 onwards. Fundraising perhaps could save it, but I doubt just two weeks is enough time unless a guardian angel with deep pockets is out there?

I wonder if @cllrandrewcooper.bsky.social knows why the plan to rehouse the Berry Brow "Little Abe" tile mural (by the renowned Huddersfield designer Kenneth Barden) fell through? It's now at risk of being destroyed at the end this month☹️ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth...
