New paper 🚨 arxiv.org/abs/2503.10761 Can quantum properties of black holes be realized in condensed matter models? We show that a chiral spin-chain which naturally admits a black hole description, realizes the Hayden-Preskill quantum teleportation protocol and shows Hawking-like radiation!

🚨New paper alert🚨 A hot liquid can freeze faster than a cold liquid, a counterintuitive phenomenon called the Mpemba effect. In our new paper, we argue that a quantum version of this effect is ubiquitous across a large variety of chaotic quantum systems. arxiv.org/abs/2505.17181

Our recent @physrevb.bsky.social Letter and Editors' Suggestion demonstrates the ubiquity of the quantum Mpemba effect in many types of quantum systems. Thanks to our PhD student @tanmaybhore.bsky.social and @ucstonecenter.bsky.social collaborators. @leverhulme.ac.uk journals.aps.org/prb/abstract...
Our featured article for April 2025 Quantum electrodynamics on a 1D lattice can lead to localization of charges, in contrast to the thermalizing dynamics. This study identifies the origin of such non-thermal signatures and attribute it to the fracturing of the underlying Hilbert space. rdcu.be/el8h7
Delighted to announce our paper has just been published in Communications Physics - where we elucidate the mechanism behind some intriguing phenomena in the strong-coupling limit of a 1D lattice gauge theory. @tanmaybhore.bsky.social @theoryleeds.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s42... ⚛️🧪
The quantum description of a black hole predicts that quantum information hidden behind the event horizon can be teleported outside almost instantaneously. In this work, we demonstrate that a chiral s...
