Seems to me “Which Side Are You On?” is an appropriate song here.
Friendly reminder to all those being coerced into harming your colleagues, harming yourselves, & ultimately harming future students: YOU CAN STILL JOIN UCU!

Watching the news. Donald Trump would SO fail the marshmallow test.
No one can “earn” a billion, much less a trillion, dollars. Stop normalizing the exploitation, media.
“But he doesn’t take a salary. So generous, right?”

Here is @ducu.bsky.social ‘s analysis of management’s most recent response to our request to negotiate. Management took extra time to deliver us a response that was a flat and unequivocal “no, we will negotiate NOTHING with you.”

As a blanket policy across disciplines, this is cruel. Having been subject to such a policy at Uni, one of my engineering exam scores in the mid-90s garnered me a B because others had higher scores and A’s were capped.

This boy! You give him a lap to sit on, and he’s there. 3 months into joining the clan and he has found his place.
Here I am putting on my shoes….hence, the opportunity for him to claim my lap.
Really good summary of why I beg my students to handwrite their notes instead of typing them.

Workload, and how workload is allocated, is a problem in HE. @ducu.bsky.social has a mandate for ASOS right now — you know, legal protection to do your job and be allowed to refuse working for free. PalTV did a piece on our current action.

Reading the news today & came across this. To be CRYSTAL CLEAR, @ducu.bsky.social has REPEATEDLY raised workload problems to management and offered potential solutions for negotiation. In EVERY instance, management has refused to negotiate. “No” is not negotiation. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
