As always, my office will provide light refreshments, coloring books for the kiddos, and resources for navigating your local government. Parking in this area can be tricky, so I encourage you to carpool, take public transit, or arrive early!
With about a week to go before we vote to adopt the final budget, I already know we'll have plenty to discuss. This is a chance for you to ask questions about this year’s budget cycle and how the decisions we made will inform what the coming fiscal year is going to look like.
If you live, work, play, pray, or study in District 2, please join me at Bienestar de la Familia, a community center in the Cully neighborhood, for a Post-Budget Debrief on Monday, June 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Thank you to my co-sponsors Councilor Steve Novick, @councilordunphy.bsky.social, and @councilormorillo.bsky.social for your support, and @driversunionor.bsky.social for your steadfast advocacy. I'm looking forward to hearing this item at full Council. (4/4)
A centralized, independent place for rideshare drivers to access employment-related resources will get them the support they need to be successful, stabilizing the rideshare workforce — and, by extension, our transportation system. (3/4)
Drivers in our community are facing unpredictable wages, unexpected deactivation without recourse, and no access to benefits like healthcare, paid leave, or job protections. (2/4)
Yesterday, an ordinance to establish a Drivers' Resource Center for rideshare drivers passed unanimously out of the City Life Committee. (1/4)
