OH MY GOD I FINALLY GOT A SHOT OF A LEAST BITTERN!
These things are incredibly hard to even spot, much less photograph.
Amazing bird walk this morning.

Incredible day of 30+ species on my bird walk this morning, this time with a local birding club.
The picture of the day is this gorgeous tree swallow who was nesting nearby, we had to go around it, and so I got a beautiful shot :)

Beautiful birding walk this morning. Got my first American Coot, a beautiful bluebird, saw my orchard oriole again, and some Mourning Doves.
Mourning doves look so silly.

Exciting morning for me on my birding walk! Got to submit my first rare bird alert, an Orchard Oriole! It's not rare for the area, but rare temporally, they usually migrate this way later in April to early May apparently!

Two new birds on my life list this morning on my morning walk, a female Hairy Woodpecker and a Northern House Wren. :)
Here's a couple shots from this morning of the Mockingbird I found and a beautiful Hairy Woodpecker eating grub!

Only one new bird for me on my morning walk, but a pretty one! Look at this little banana looking Palm Warbler :)

And now 1 week into birding, I have found 40 total species, and just got my first ever bird in flight shot! And got a pileated woodpecker as well as a red-headed woodpecker on my latest excursion!
Taken on a A7C + 200-600mm

The coolest thing about birding is I've gone my whole life completely unaware that the little flutters of black and brown are actually incredibly colorful and photogenic. It's like a fun little Pokemon game that I didn't even realize was going on around me.
Anyway here's a red-bellied woodpecker :)

A day of birding out in Marayland... Beautiful Mockingbird, European Starling, and red shoulder hawk pictures :) Also saw a double-crested cormorant and a beautiful blue heron, but the pictures weren't as good, and plenty of other common birds!
