As much as I want him to stay as energy secretary - I do want Miliband to be made chancellor purely because if Burnham wants to succeed he can’t be putting Mahmood or Streeting in top jobs
We haven't had a PM make it through a full term since Cameron, meanwhile NZ is so stable they're about to have their second election in a row where both leaders are named Chris.
I mean the problem is with Starmer you actually can articulate it really easily, just because people have different reasons doesn’t detract from that because people have different priorities
I mean yes, if he demotes both from the positions they held under Starmer (albeit Streeting resigned) he’ll have a worse time managing the PLP - but lab needs to consolidate the left vote that it’s lost and those two in top roles ruins those chances
Ahaahahahahahha
She at least had the excuse she needed a majority to carry out Brexit in a stable manner (woops) and Boris needed it for much the and reason.
What would Burnhams “necessity” justification be
tbf thats in part because 3 of those 6 parties have very little individual presence outside of their leaders. TPM and ACT are led by the people who were their only MPs for at least a term (or 4(?) in acts case). And NZFirst is the Winston Peters show.
Uhhhhhh
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I mean I’m not saying there’s not a case for it, harness the honeymoon period and catch reform off guard…
But the polling is still shit and I don’t think the public will fancy an election called when there’s no legislative gridlock. Even if Mays 2017 run was clearly self serving (and it backfired)
