Last night’s #TheArchers was a genuinely harrowing listen. How many times do people have to be told to keep their dogs on leashes in the countryside? It’s not rocket science.
Marvellous. Marr returns.
Oh fuck, a sparrow has just, I’m sure, broken its neck flying in to the doors to the house here. Resisting temptation to be ‘useful’. Hope it comes around and flies away. Can’t look. Which reminds me why David Archer being so upset about his sheep on #TheArchers riffs in a bizarre way.
There’s a reason why albums are sequenced.
Fab. Was lucky enough to catch them on the first date of their latest run of shows, the day “More” was released, in Glasgow. Have seen them live so many times. Thrilled they’ve decided to produce a live recording of these shows.
Back in the old days, when we were so young in the 90s, when it was Blur V Oasis and all that cobblers, there was only one right answer. Pulp. Here’s a song that saved my life.
Last thing eaten this evening - Greek Sheep’s Milk Yoghurt. It had a skin on it. It was fucking amazing. I didn’t gild the lily - no fruit, no seasoning or herbs, just as is. And it was incredible.
The way they’ve done the End of the Line Remix leading in to This is Hardcore has been a live highlight for years. I’m SO happy it’s been recorded for posterity.
Finally got around to catching up with @bobfischer.bsky.social’s magnificent Haunted Generation Radio Show’s 9th Episode from earlier this year. It’s become something of a holiday ritual listening to this whilst the UV rating is 10 and the temperature is up at 28 degrees. Magnificent stuff.
I’ve been saving up the latest series of “Conversations from a Long Marriage” for until we were actually on holiday. Joanna Lumley and Roger Allam in perfect form as always. Bloody love this pair. Worth listening to from the very beginning.
