Little art direction hopium for you, if the SGF left you feeling like too few beautiful things are happening
across different genres, looks, levels of budget- I think on the whole it's been an amazing era. Great taste & surprising original visual design have never been widespread, but the rarity is part of what makes it special when it finally arrives
A friend recently was reflecting that they felt art direction in games has gotten generally worse. I think it's a good use of our time & energy to celebrate the fact that while there are a lot of whiffs in the world today, the recent era has also seen some of the greatest of all time
