That ability to read at a twelfth grade level in second grade didn't really do me any favors. I feel a little deceived, not gonna lie 😒
Objectively useful writing advice: Make a list of the crutch words you tend to lean on the most, and every time you edit a chapter, look them up individually. I just used "though" sixteen times in a single chapter, man 🤦

I often worry that there's no deep meaning behind the book I've been working on for the past few years, and thus that it doesn't really have anything to say. Is a book even worth writing if there's no message? Or am I just too close to see the message?
