I cannot overstate how INCREDIBLE the work NEHS does is. Affordable pet care is a challenge for so many people who live in the area, and breaking down these boundaries continues to improve the lives of the animals all across the metro. Congratulations, NEHS 🧡🎉

This project will increase the facility’s capacity from 6,450 pets treated per year to over 9,000, with a total project cost (capital and start-up costs) of $8 million. Thanks to generous donors, 80% of the funding has been secured. The estimated completion date is mid-2027.

The PWC will offer spay/neuter services, preventative care, vaccinations, dental services and other basic care, with the goal of keeping pets healthy and in their homes rather than surrendered to NHS. Today is the official groundbreaking.

Coming in 2027: The Nebraska Humane Society Pet Wellness Center We cannot overstate how excited we are to share this news! We are transforming the Spay & Neuter Center into a low-cost Pet Wellness Center (PWC).

Spreading the word for our friends across the river - The Council Bluffs City Council will be voting tonight (Monday, June 8) on whether or not they will repeal the city's pit bull ban. Citizens are able to attend and comment at the City Council meeting at 209 Pearl Street in CB.
