Idk man to this very day it still rubs me the wrong way that the vn ends like that only for the series to be cashed in on with a dozen more pointless arcs that didn't need to be there.
Did anyone finish higurashi and actually think "you know what this is missing. A dozen more arcs of rika trying and failing and suffering in the futility of trying to find an uncompromised happiness a literal uncountable number of times."

Like, idk. It made me think about Majora's Mask and how broadly this game feels fun but nothing CRAZY, until you get to an actual character moment and they generally resonate very hard. It's crazy how good the anju/kafei ending still is!!!! I think I may just be a sucker for love, unfortunately.

I want to learn more about what it is that I "like" in a broad sense and why, but I think a major part of what makes something I love is good characters and relationships. Infinitely moreso than whatever plot they're placed within.
