Failed cartoonist He/him, cis, queer but not into bright colours. Very left wing but not here to prove my lefty credentials or have pointless arguments. ADHD and probably autistic too. Patreon.com/davidwynne

You know in my day, police did the work themselves, carried a drop gun, lied on the stand, planted little baggies of coke, etc. This is just sheer laziness.
Pay me to write about comics.
Finally sat down with @pauljonmilne.bsky.social’s Suture and it’s a masterpiece? The story of pals torn apart by militarised interests of Big Science in a fucked up pocket universe is both sweet and gory, the narration is dry and poetic, and of course the art is on another level. Highly recommend!

Going to try to finish the current Boomslang story today. Two pages left. First of those is pencilled, scripted, two panels inked, and I’ve decided I don’t like it so may start over. We’ll see.
Well, it was absolute bloody murder to get done, but there’s a new page of Boomslang on the Patreon, if you’re interested
Like, authenticity in food culture is a questionable thing anyway, and gets quite complicated when it comes to British and Indian food given our deeply intertwined cultural history because of, y’know, all the colonialism, but seriously, TOO SPICY? I will never stop thinking about that
I feel like I always end up with SLIGHTLY more stuff to fit on the last page of a story than I’d like.
As ever, there is this huge swathe of Americans who’s understanding of the rest of the world- and Europe in particular- is entirely based on stuff they’ve seen on TV that’s all rooted in stereotypes that were set during World War 2. The lack of curiosity about the world is just weird, honestly
Ah yes, Europe is so famous for its boring food, especially Italy, Spain and France
