In Engish, turkeys are named after the country Turkiye. In Turkiye, they're called "Hindi" named after India. In Hindi, they're sometimes called "Peru" named after...Peru. In Peru they're called "pavo" named after peacocks.
Peacocks don't have a word for turkeys.
