A reminder about the Cromwell Association's FREDERIC L BORCH III ESSAY PRIZE 2025 for students aged 16-19. The deadline is Friday 25th July and the prize winner will receive a personal cheque for £250.
On this date in 1650, Cromwell and the New Model Army secured a decisive victory against a Scottish royalist army at Dunbar. Exactly a year later, he defeated Charles II's army at Worcester. Ironically, the date of his death in 1658 was also September 3rd.
