If you like folk horror, come along to this awesome online festival!
I'll be delivering a special workshop on Sunday 21st June about Scottish folklore đ´đŚâ all the weirdest creatures, why our fears founded them in the first place, and how to use them in your writing!
I used to struggle with horror, with the tales of blood and gore. But Lovecraft showed me what i hadnt seen before. That horror could be slow, sensual, sweet, sonic. And with his words, horror became my tonic.

Just entered the @welkinpress.bsky.social with something I have been tapping away on for a while after a friend at wind band told me a fun historical fact.
This is true with stories too, something to think about. Any dialect piece is a nightmare with screen reading/reading modes as it reads every bit of punctuation.
Had fun this afternoon delving into horror writing, using my love of mythology to stir up something spooky. Even if it doesnt go anywhere, I still had a blast.
