Marie-Gabrielle Capet (1761– 1818) was a French Neoclassical painter. (Self-portrait below.) She came from a modest background and her previous artistic training is unknown, but in 1781 she became the pupil of the French painter Adelaide Labille-Guiard in Paris. #CelebratingWomen
