Margaret Knight (1838 – 1914) was the American inventor of a machine to produce flat-bottomed paper bags. A man, Charles Annan, stole her design and patented it, claiming that "she could not possibly understand the mechanical complexities of the machine", but she sued him and won. #CelebratingWomen
