The first hour of 007: FIRST LIGHT is a masterclass in aligning the player with the player-character through familiar IP beats. Effectively a long-ass tutorial infused with movie editing, but the result is surprisingly amazing. Can't wait to dive deeper.

"Visionary" doesn't begin to cover it: Games Workshop literally built worlds on the back of John Blanche. Under his hand, tableau storytelling and punk brushstrokes became one. Warhammer owes him everything and we hobbyists owe him so much. I'm so sad to see him go. He was a true master. RIP, John.
D'abord déroutante, l'imitation de Simon Abkarian accouche d'un personnage troublant, touchant et attachant. On déplore certes quelques couacs visuels, mais le scénario jongle habilement avec la quantité d'informations, d'anecdotes et d'enjeux à porter à l'écran. Plutôt solide, souvent malin.

I've been attending the D-Day celebrations in Normandy for the past three years now: always humbling, impressive and instructing. Mad respect for everyone keeping the flame of memory alight.
Évidemment qu'il y aura des choses à redire sur la représentation des colonies, ou la fascination pour l'homme providentiel. Mais le film s'attache aussi brièvement à des figures moins connues comme Félix Eboué ou Susan Travers.
On aurait tort de ne pas s'en inspirer pour les combats à venir.
