In view of today's news, I'm sure there are Jane Yolen books that need to be resurrected. Pit Dragons. Great Alta. Young Merlin. Here be... books. Rock 'n' roll fairy tales. Finding Baba Yaga.

#KidsBooksFriday looking at forgotten gems. I grew up with Holling Clancy Holling who used impressive illustrations & fun writing to introduce curiosity about science & history. written mostly in the 40s & 50s, they still have value even if not everything has stood the test of time.

Lara T is a museum nerd

##KidsBooksFriday I loved this series when I was little. The Pookie series was a huge favourite, too. But some of them have been republished. And the now out-of-favour Noddy series.

I am going to add the Pennington books by KM Peyton. #kidsbookfriday. They are a rather brilliant exploration of masculinity, first and world-changing love, and what it means to have a wild talent and not know what to do with it. Peyton finds the absolute elasticity of a page and revels in it.
