It occurs to me I've been using the handle in various places for 26 years now (if not longer) and a more sensible person than me would probably have retired it off. I did go through a very brief patch of calling myself 23 Degrees, but that lasted about two months before I realised it was shit.
My name is Dave, and it was a Dr Seuss poem about a woman who had 23 sons all called Dave. The 23 enigma was also much exploited by The KLF in the 90s so it's also a subtle reference to that. I used to get DMs asking if having the number in my handle had bought me much serendipity or luck.
For the last year, I've regularly walked past a twenty-something man and a woman together in the park. He drones on monotonously about how he hates his job. She is consistently silent. Today I passed and she was literally stomping and scowling. He was oblivious, saying "You see, with bureaucracy..."
Just seen in the park: A small group of teenagers swearing loudly and boisterously to shock passers-by, while carefully packing their rubbish into a plastic bag to take home with them. Adolescence can be a confusing time.
All of these policies should be greeted with the answer 'great. You first'. Want to stop teenagers accessing X? Great, tell all UK government departments to stop doing the same. Want to have children in national service? Great, get the over 50s to volunteer because they've as much free time as kids.
Don’t ban kids using YouTube. Make YouTube behave like a broadcaster. Pay creators. Reinvest in the creative industries. Pay fair tax back into creators’ economies. Follow guidelines on fair usage and copyright. Play fair. It’s bigger than TV now. Make it behave like TV.
Had a go of this thing. smstone0.github.io#/uk-map I'd like to apologise to most of Scotland and all of Northern Ireland, but I'm sure one day I'll put that right.
