Price made his Tigers debut against Nuneaton in September 1922. He only played 17 times for Leicester, but had a lot to pack into his athletic years. He was selected to play for both the England rugby and hockey teams on 18 March 1922 - he went for the rugby option.
HERBERT LEO PRICE
Born on 21 June 1899, Leo Price was a sporting polymath, including playing for Leicester and England.
The flanker’s time at the Tigers was bookended by playing spells with Harlequins. His last game was against Cardiff in November 1924. By then he had won four caps, the final two in 1923 whilst representing Leicester. Below is a programme for an England trial that year.

Price scored the then fastest try in internationals after 10 seconds against Wales in 1923. He appeared 12 times for England in hockey, had a half-Blue in water polo at Oxford University and also played two first-class cricket games whilst at Oxford.
