#ttrpg Combat is fun when it presents you with a variety of interesting and dramatic choices to make moment to moment. It's why I enjoy both crunchy, tactical, 4e style games, as well as stuff like World of Dungeons, which is basically a stripped down pbta with a couple abilities...

Can we talk about combat in TTRPGs? Does anyone actually like it? I used to DM a *lot* of 5e, and the last campaign I ran I ended up house-ruling that all attacks hit, like Into the Odd. I was really grasping at straws because I was SO sick of slogging through combat.
