This is such sad news. I began by thinking how wise Jane was and how she would deliver a brilliant insight in the most matter-of-fact way; but I ended thinking of her broad streak of sheer goofiness and profound appreciation of the ridiculous.
My mother, the inimitable Jane Yolen passed away this morning after a blessingly short fight with Alzheimer’s. She did not suffer, and went peacefully into the ether which, I am certain for her, will be filled with words of the most exquisite beauty and meaning.
