6. "But shouldn't we accept less than perfect and fight the real enemy?" Here's what worries me most: this sets a precedent far beyond one clinic in Queens. If the most progressive mayor in America voluntarily adopts Trump's age cutoff, what does every hospital board in the country take from that?
2. "Isn't this the perfect being the enemy of the good?" I acknowledged in my piece that opening this clinic is a meaningful step. The issue isn't that it's imperfect. The issue is that Mamdani stood outside NYU Langone and called them cowards for making this exact decision for this exact reason.
5. AG Letitia James, in this same city, told NYU Langone in March that "no federal action has changed the law." Hospitals like Rady, Colorado Children's, and Boston Children's are still providing this care. They have not lost a single dollar of federal funding. The threats are not law.
