Image of the week: Algal blooms in the Celtic Sea 🌊
Captured by #Copernicus Sentinel-3, the image shows phytoplankton blooms visible from space. These microscopic organisms produce over half Earth’s oxygen and help absorb CO₂. The cyan colour is likely from coccolithophores.
