The game did the work of honoring Southern culture, and the way that it is built on African folklore. It saw the language we use in the South, the superstitions we build our lives around and said that it is not only worthy, but it is thanks to Black people and culture that we have this beauty.
South of Midnight is a love letter to the American South and in that we can find the real Southern folklore that inspires the game.
