as a teen when a politician came to my school I asked why not he, but my other senator, his colleague, had voted against banning secret credit card fee bullshit, what are they gonna do, run campaign ads attacking him on that; and he said no they'll pay for ads calling him a weak on crime job killer

Obviously for those who have follow d this for a long time it's hardly even an observation anymore but it is always striking how United Democracy Project or whatever AIPAC's front in each respective case is called will drop 2.5 million or more on ads that.....don't mention Israel at all
