The fierce, energetic Bea Lumpkin on her way from the South Side to the No Kings march last October! Bea Lumpkin (1918-2026) was a towering figure: labor organizer, educator, political activist, community leader, inspiration. If we feel tired, we'll remember Bea Lumpkin, active until age 107. ♥️RIP✊
Indivisible Chicago-South Side
Bea Lumpkin was a giant of our labor movement. She stood with working people everywhere in the fight for workers’ rights, civil rights and education rights. She embodied solidarity—and we’ll use her inspiration to keep fighting for a more just world for all. Rest in power ✊
🔥 Charlamagne on Josh Hokit attacking Michelle: “All you do when you bring the Obamas up is remind people what is currently missing from the White House. The Obamas set a standard for decency & class & poise & intelligence... Now that bar is in hell.”

After the sudden passing of Spencer Leak Jr., may we honor him not only with words, but with works. May we protect the institutions he strengthened. May we cherish the Black family businesses that have held our communities together through migration, segregation, violence, pandemic, & grief.

Rest in power, Bea Lumpkin. We were honored to have Bea join us at No Kings and several other protests last year. May her memory be a blessing and her joyful activism and incredible resilience to keep fighting be an inspiration to us all!
Oh no, what horrible news. Bea was an absolute lifelong fighter for a better world, a link to several previous eras of organizing going back to the Great Depression, a constant presence that felt infinite. Her loss is monumental.

ICE and CBP are leaving people outside to freeze to death. We know at least 2 people died from hypothermia, with both deaths ruled as homicides by the medical examiners.
New: We've been tracking reports of ICE activity across Chicagoland for five weeks. In that time, rapid responders have seen an escalation as feds have abducted dozens, caused at least two car crashes, threatened community members with weapons and flouted state courthouse protections. Read more:
Tonight: Join Indivisible for the latest in their Solidarity in Action series "Leading with Inclusion: Solidarity Across LGBTQ+ Communities," featuring Katie Blair of PFLAG for a conversation on inclusive leadership, accountable allyship, and creating stronger, more affirming movements for all.
