that is not to say that homura wasn't selfish for usurping madoka's wish to change the world for the better at the cost of herself, because even though madoka told her that should would never wish to go away from everyone she loved, that was a madoka that did not experience the Horrors of the world
was unhappy. Where she could not live a happy life. (Even if she's literally making it up bc she cant acknowledge that madoka can change)
and at this point, Homura doesn't even need to be part of the equation. Homura is prepared to be Madoka's enemy in the end as long as she lives her life.
Madoka never wanted this for herself, and that she was now miserable as a goddess, away from everyone she loved
But its because she's a god now that she can appreciate all the time homura spent trying to save her. But That would always be something Homura could never accept: a world where Madoka-
The madoka that made that wish had a vastly different perspective than the one that appeared in Homura's labyrinth. But Homura has been driven by her love and drive to save madoka from the start. I wouldn't even say she used that as an excuse to usurp godoka, i think Homura genuinely believed-
did not mean to rant about this. I love this series!!!
i remember hating how madoka magica rebellion ended and i was so anti homura back in 2014, but now she is one of my favorite characters and i think the ending is perfect to that story and her character
I think its so interesting how the movie frames it to be such an awful end but it really is probably the best conclusion to a world where magical girls turned to witches. she brought back people who died and gave madoka her life back
