#C64 in NTSC and in PAL configs. Obviously, I am used to the PAL. Am I correct in thinking for 4 colours (1 background?) you have to have 8px [high] by 4 (double)px [wide]? I guess it just looks less "wide" on the NTSC, obviously. #Commodore64
#Zzap! gave a full half pager to Tie Break when there were lots of new games still being made for the C64. CF had actually launched the month before and that had a good 2 years of busy magazine pages. This issue of Zzap! was 100 pages - halcyon days... Oh: 80%.

#CommodoreFormat also slapped an 80% mark on the game and yeah, it's a solid enough tennis game. For me, the poise and control of International 3D Tennis still holds out as #1...
The loading screen above was only available in the NTSC US (more rubbish) version of the game. Zzap! were also not really interested, awarding the game 69% (!) in February of 1989. None of those games look any cop, actually...

I tell you what... This isn't "good" by a long shot, but considering what they were trying to port down to the #C64 - this is a valiant effort & personally, I think the UK/EU version is well worth a play. Man, it's ugly, but it plays kinda like the arcade. Give it a whirl!
What was interesting was booting my WinVICE up into NTSC mode (to load in the US-only loading pic), it just looks so flippin' weird, man. But, absolutely less "horizontal". Has anyone done a proper deep dive into NTSC vs PAL? @pacbilly.bsky.social ..? @martinpiper.bsky.social @fuzzweed.co.uk

With Wimbledon just around the corner and the World Cup in full swing, Old Mother Logrus is loving the TV Schedule right now... #C64 tennis games aren't that abundant, but this one is a good effort. I was terrible when I just played, but I can *see* that is a pretty good game.
